Engineered Quartz is a great choice if you like uniformity and durability. It is composed of 93% crushed quartz particles and is non pourous, resists heat up to 275 degrees and is hard to stain. It is a strong material and does not chip easily making seams almost invisible. It does scratch much easier than granite.
